The RCI-Master in Clinical Psychology (M.Clin.Psy.) program at MGM University's Department of Clinical Psychology, Institute of Social Sciences is a rigorous 2-year postgraduate program approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Students develop advanced expertise in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based psychotherapy through comprehensive coursework in psychopathology, neurocognitive disorders, and clinical interventions combined with intensive supervised clinical practice in diverse mental health settings.
The curriculum integrates advanced psychological assessment techniques, clinical interview skills, and various therapeutic modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and group interventions. Students gain extensive clinical experience through practicum placements in hospitals, psychiatric clinics, rehabilitation centers, and community mental health programs while conducting research on clinical populations and developing clinical case conceptualizations and treatment plans under expert supervision.
Graduates are eligible for RCI registration as clinical psychologists and equipped for careers in hospitals, mental health clinics, rehabilitation centers, and private practice as clinical psychologists and mental health specialists. The program emphasizes evidence-based practice, ethical clinical work, and holistic client care, preparing highly trained professionals to diagnose and treat mental health disorders and contribute to advancing clinical psychology practice and research in healthcare settings.
Four-year B.A./B.Sc. degree in Psychology from a university recognised by RCI/UGC, with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks, or 50% for SC/ST candidates, as per Government of India norms. Candidates with a three-year graduation degree in Psychology must pass a fourth-year Bridge Course or the first year of a Master’s programme in Psychology with at least 55% marks.
