The Department of Economics offers research-oriented and skill-based programs in economics. Focused on
developing employability in students, the Department provides research internships along with practical
programs in applied statistics, mathematics, and econometrics. The NEP-2020 framework allows students to
choose, along with core subjects, discipline-specific and interdisciplinary elective courses as well as open
electives from different institutes within the university. Upon completion of the program, the students receive a
Major degree in Economics with a minor degreein one of her field of choice, such as Data Analytics or
filmmaking. Pedagogies emphasizing active student participation are extensively employed in the teaching-
learning process. The department also facilitates opportunities for rural immersions, industry visits, and
academic discourses.
