Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Sept. 24: The Department of Education and the Department of Psychology at MGM University jointly organised a special lecture to mark International Literacy Day. This year’s theme was “Literacy for People, the Planet and Prosperity.”

The special lecture highlighted the importance of literacy in the development of individuals, society and the environment. The session emphasised the need to understand the broader concept of literacy in the changing social and educational landscape, as well as its role in promoting sustainable development and building a prosperous society.

The programme was graced by Dean Dr. John Chelladurai, Dr. Ramesh Jare, Dr. Amardeep Asolkar, Dr. Varsha Dandge, Dr. Amruta Magar, Dr. Kalpana Mote, Dr. Jayaprakash Yadav, along with faculty members, students and other dignitaries.

The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the significance of literacy and conveyed the message of viewing literacy from a broader perspective of social development and sustainability.

एमजीएम विद्यापीठात आंतरराष्ट्रीय साक्षरता दिन साजरा

छत्रपती संभाजीनगर, दि. २४ : महात्मा गांधी मिशन विद्यापीठाच्या शिक्षणशास्त्र विभाग आणि मानसशास्त्र विभागाच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने आंतरराष्ट्रीय साक्षरता दिनानिमित्त विशेष व्याख्यानाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. यंदाच्या आंतरराष्ट्रीय साक्षरता दिनाची थीम ‘लिटरसी फॉर पीपल, द प्लॅनेट अँड प्रॉस्पेरिटी’ अशी होती. या विशेष व्याख्यानातून साक्षरतेचे व्यक्ती, समाज आणि पर्यावरणाच्या विकासातील महत्त्व अधोरेखित करण्यात आले. बदलत्या सामाजिक आणि शैक्षणिक परिस्थितीत साक्षरतेची व्यापक संकल्पना समजून घेण्याची गरज तसेच शाश्वत विकास आणि समृद्ध समाजनिर्मितीसाठी साक्षरतेची भूमिका यावर मार्गदर्शन करण्यात आले.

या कार्यक्रमास अधिष्ठाता डॉ. जॉन चेल्लादुराई, डॉ. रमेश जरे, डॉ. अमरदीप असोलकर, डॉ. वर्षा दांडगे, डॉ. अमृता मगर, डॉ. कल्पना मोटे, डॉ. जयप्रकाश यादव यांच्यासह प्राध्यापक, विद्यार्थी आणि संबंधित मान्यवर उपस्थित होते. कार्यक्रमाच्या माध्यमातून विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये साक्षरतेविषयी जागरूकता निर्माण करण्याबरोबरच साक्षरतेकडे व्यापक सामाजिक आणि शाश्वत विकासाच्या दृष्टिकोनातून पाहण्याचा संदेश देण्यात आला.
