Human Culture and Mythology

Program Outline

The Certificate Course in Human Culture and Mythology at MGM University's Institute of Social Sciences is an intensive 3-month program exploring mythological narratives, cultural traditions, and their significance in human societies. Students examine myths from diverse civilizations including Indian, Greek, Egyptian, and Mesopotamian cultures while understanding how mythology shapes cultural identity, social values, and worldviews through comparative analysis and interpretive frameworks.
The curriculum covers mythological symbolism, archetypal patterns, and cultural narratives alongside the role of mythology in literature, art, and religion. Students analyze sacred texts, folklore, rituals, and oral traditions, examining how myths reflect human experiences, explain natural phenomena, and transmit cultural knowledge across generations while learning anthropological and literary methods for interpreting mythological significance.
Graduates are equipped for careers in educational institutions, cultural organizations, museums, and media as cultural educators, content developers, and research coordinators. The program cultivates deep cultural understanding, critical thinking, and appreciation for human diversity, preparing professionals to promote intercultural awareness, contribute to cultural preservation, and enhance public understanding of mythology's enduring influence on contemporary culture and society.
