The Department of Psychology at MGM University hosted a vibrant and enriching one-day State-Level Workshop on “Counseling Skills and Psychological Approaches” on 20th March 2025, thoughtfully coordinated by Dr. Kalpana Mote and Dr. Anas Aslam. The event drew 92 enthusiastic participants from various institutions across India, along with active involvement from the university’s own students and faculty. The event started with a keynote from The Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Vilas Sapkal and Dr. K. P. Singh,Director, IoSS MGMU . The atmosphere was both warm and intellectually stimulating, with insightful sessions delivered by Dr. Amol Deshmukh, a well-known neuropsychiatrist who runs three clinics in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Ms. Sayali Vaze, a compassionate clinical psychologist and play therapist from Maharashtra Institute of Mental Health, Pune. Their talks were not only informative but deeply relatable, bringing real-life perspectives to therapeutic work. The workshop stood out for its interactive role plays, hands-on demonstrations, and open Q&A sessions that encouraged genuine dialogue around the emotional and ethical complexities of counseling. With heartfelt speeches from university leaders and a sincere vote of thanks to everyone involved.
